MEET THE FOUNDER
Tom Getty
Tom Getty is the founder and president of one of the most inovative movie marketing firms in the business. With over 20 years of experience creating movie trailers, he is Acrolight's senior trailer producer, overseeing the creation of all Acrolight Picture's trailers. He has created movie trailers for Devilworks, High Octane Pictures, ITN, The Asylum, Epic Pictures, and many more.
He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and an accomplished movie producer of feature films such as EMULATION and AMERICA HAS FALLEN. He is also a writer, copywriter, video editor, motion graphics designer, audio engineer, and businessman.
He believes that every movie deserves a chance—and that its chance is with the trailer. Not the movie. "The trailer is king," he says. Tom strives for the best movie trailers in the business and wants to see all of the movies he makes trailers for succeed.
Tom Getty has also written three books on the subject of film and film advertising.
THE STORY OF ACROLIGHT PICTURES
Founded in 2006
When Tom Getty, a lifelong movie maker, realized the importance of marketing, he set out to learn everything about the subject. Soon, he saw that movies ARE their marketing. But while there were tons of resources on making movies, he found there was virtually nothing about movie trailers. Worse still—the only people who made movie trailers were guarded away in hard-to-reach Hollywood trailer houses.
Tom studied everything about movie trailers and how to make them on his own.
THE TRANSFORMATION OF ACROLIGHT PICTURES
A New Era
What resulted was a company that shifted over all its resouces from making movies to making movie TRAILERS. Since 2016, Acrolight Pictures has become the go-to resource for studios, filmmakers, and distributors who want blockbuster results.
